Mei Nguyen is eighteen years old. She was born in Vietnam, but now she lives in Canada, with her grandmother. A runner in heart and soul her dream is to once compete in the Olympic Games. One day - while running in a park at the seaside - she saves the life of a little boy who has fallen into the sea. The grateful father offers to sponsor her training as an athlete. Mei isn't sure whether she can accept such an offer. In the meantime strange things are happening: who is the mysterious man that follows her in a big silver car? And who has sent her these beautiful roses?
